Comanche County Texas

Emergency Shelter

At the request of the City of De Leon, and the Comanche County Emergency Management Coordinator, the Comanche County Consolidated Hospital District gave permission for the use of the former De Leon Hospital facilities as an Emergency Shelter — for the needs of people displaced by the Gulf hurricanes.

The City of De Leon, and the Comanche County Emergency Management Coordinator are fully responsible for the use of the former De Leon Hospital building as a temporary emergency shelter.

To the Wonderful Citizens of De Leon

From the Citizens of Beaumont

Please accept our gratitude and blessings for your efforts in accepting us in our time of need.

We have observed your bring us clothing and food, and the many volunteers working long hours for our comfort.

Our Father in Heaven put this challenge before you, and you responded joyfully.

Surely His goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your lives.

I believe your love has planted a seed in all of us.  We were all shocked when we discovered our food was coming from the generosity of the citizens in this small community.

Some of us have lost our homes and all our belongings, but this loss can be replaced.  But, because of the love you have shown us, the loss is nothing in comparison.

The words "thank you" do not seen enough, but that will have to do until we have the opportunity to do to others what you have done for us.
